- 200 MB maximum.
- Video length
- 3 to 60 seconds.A longer video is trimmed to that range when the creative is created, not rejected.
- Resolution
- Up to 3840 px on the long edge is accepted at upload.Whether it then runs on a given screen is decided by that screen hardware limit.
- File types
- Common image and video formats. HEVC is not accepted.
| Creative | Max file size | Duration on screen |
|---|---|---|
| Image | 20 MB | Fixed duration, set by the engine. |
| Video | 200 MB | 3 to 60 seconds. |
| GIF | Same as image | Accepted, but treated as a still. The animation does not play. |
Use a video, not a GIF
If you want motion, upload a video. A GIF gets through the upload and then stands still on the screen.
The aspect ratio rule
This is the rule that decides whether your ad runs. The engine compares the aspect ratio of your creative with the aspect ratio of the screen. They may differ by 20 % at most. Beyond that, the screen skips the creative.
The upload is stricter than the engine. It measures your file against the known screen models with a 2 % tolerance and offers you a crop when it does not line up.
| Case | What happens |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio is off by more than 2 % from a known screen model | The app offers you a crop at upload. |
| Creative and screen are more than 20 % apart | That screen does not play the creative. |
| The screen resolution is unknown | The orientation has to match exactly. A square creative fits a square screen only. |
| The creative fits none of the screens in your cart | The app blocks the selection. |
| The creative fits some of the screens in your cart | You get a warning only. It will not run on the screens it does not fit. |
A warning is not a green light
You can book past a fit warning. You then pay for screens your creative never appears on. Either crop a second version or drop those screens from the cart.
Before you upload
- Check the orientation of the screens you want. Build the creative in that orientation.
- Keep the file under 20 MB for an image, under 200 MB for a video.
- Cut the video to somewhere between 3 and 60 seconds yourself, so the trim does not cut your message.
- Export as a video file, not as HEVC and not as GIF.
- Read uploading and review before you upload — every file is checked.
