The answer is usually yes, which is exactly why the question is worth asking before buying anything.
- What the TV must have:
- an HDMI port
- permanent power
- internet within reach, Wi-Fi is fine
- enough brightness for the room
What it does not need. No smart-TV operating system, no app, no factory signage mode. The playback device brings all of that.
When an old TV is not enough. If it switches itself off after a few hours, or sits in a window against direct sun. A picture too dark to read does not sell.
What that does to your cost. If you already own the screen, the only priced item disappears. Software, dashboard and your own content cost nothing.
A TV that already hangs in your venue is the cheapest entry there is.
